The Editorial Department of the Journal of Nanjing Medical University is a Civilized Department of NMU has been rated for several consecutive years, as “Excellent Journal in Jiangsu Province” by Jiangsu Press and Publication Administration, Jiangsu Science and Technology Commission, and Jiangsu Journal Association. In 2009, it became the vice-chairman unit of Jiangsu Science and Technology Periodical Association and a carrier organization of the Medical Periodical Committee. Currently, the Editorial Department is staffed with 7 members, including 1 full professor, 1 editor/reviewer, 1 associate professor, 1 associate editor/reviewer, and 4 people with PhD degrees. It has published 3 academic journals, all of which are supervised by the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province and sponsored by NMU.

Founded in 1956, Journal of Nanjing Medical University (Natural Science Edition), monthly issued, ISSN1007-4368, CN32-1442/R, has been included in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th editions of the A Guide to the Core Journals of China for a few years in a roll. It is the source journal of China Science Citation Database (CSCD) and China Science and Technology Paper Statistics (China Science and Technology Core Journal), and is included by the Chemical Abstracts (CA), Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory (USA), Copernicus Index (IC) (Poland), Japan Science and Technology Agency Chinese Literature Database (JSTChina) and other well-known search tools.

Founded at the end of 2000, Journal of Nanjing Medical University (Social Science Edition), bimonthly issued, ISSN1671-0479, CN32-1606/C, adheres to the tenet of serving the medical and health industry, observing the principle of open academic under disciplined publicity, it publishes social science academic papers related to medical and health services, such as health services, social medicine, bioethics, health management, medical education and others. Regional history and cultural characteristics as well as current hot issues of social concern are combined to set key columns for health services, medical history of Nanjing and doctor-patient communication and provide a platform for academic exchanges of teachers and students at various medical schools and universities of all levels and medical staff in medical institutions nationwide.

Journal of Biomedical Research, previously known as the Journal of Nanjing Medical University (Journal of Nanjing Medical University-English Edition), was founded in 1987 and renamed in 2010, bimonthly issued, ISSN1674-8301, CN32-1810/R. It has been included in famous search tools such as PubMed, ESCI, SCOPUS, Google Scholar, Chinese Science Citation Database, and Copernicus Index. As the winner of the Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China for 6 years from 2015 to 2020, it accepts original papers from domestic and foreign biomedical researchers, clinicians, graduate students at various universities, along with literature reviews by the authoritative scholars from inside and outside China.
