School of Basic Medical Sciences
  • Overview

The Department of Physics is mainly responsible for the courses of “medical physics” and “college physics” at the Nanjing Medical University. It also offers several basic courses and public electives, such as “Imaging Physics”, “Medical Electronics”, “Applied Optics” and “photography technic and art”. Our department could independently offer total nearly 30 experiments in three types, including college physics, imaging physics and medical electronics.Currently our department has eight faculty members and supporting staff, including three associate professors, three lecturers, one senior technician and one technician. Among us one has Ph.D and three has master's degree in Physics.
We insist the teaching principles of paying equal attention on basic, advanced and applicability, and try to focus on scientific literacy training of medical students. We implement annually approximately 2100 hours of theoretical and experimental courses. We were involved in preparation of several medical physics textbooks or planning textbooks, such as “medical physics”, “medical electronics” and “medical imaging physics “.
In recent years, we bear two Provincial projects and two school development fund projects, and have published more than 30 papers, including some papers published in “Applied Physics Letters”, “Ferroelectrics”, “Journal of Modern Optics” and “laser technology core journals” and were included by SCI, EI.
