Overview

Nanjing Medical University Library was established in 1934. It is the medical literature center of Jiangsu Academic Library & Information System, member library of China Academic Library & Information System, Jiangsu Engineering Technology Literature Information Center and Jiangsu Medical and Health Center and Grand 1 Station of Chinese Academic Periodical Literature and Information Retrieval. The library has approximately the gross area of 22,000 m² and more than 2000 reading seats distributed in Wutai and Jiangning campus. Under the service mode: integration of retrieval、read、borrow and preservation, the library is opened for 98 hours per week and 24 hours per day 7 days per week of online resources. Besides borrowing, the library also provides following services: document delivery, novelty search, citation search, special topic retrieval and retrieval course & training.

Nanjing Medical University Library’s collection is emphasized on preclinical medical, clinical medicine, stomatology, preventive medicine, biology, and pharmacy, taking maths, physics, chemistry, computer, management, social science and literature as supplement. It currently has 1220,000 printed resources, 116 databases, 8800,000 e-books and 25,000 full text e-journals.

With the service philosophy “reader-oriented” and direction for digital library construction, the library is playing a unique role in scientific research, culture communication and social service of Nanjing Medical University.

Services

The Interlibrary Book Loan Service provides access to the materials that are currently not held in Nanjing Medical University Libraries (main and branch) collections. All faculties, staff members, students of Nanjing Medical University and Jiangning College Union are eligible for this service. You can ask a librarian to submit your request. Before submitting a request, please check the library catalogue first. When the request is completed, the book you need will be sent by express delivery to you for free.

Reader Training

1、The librarians of Reference & Information Department are also charged with Document Retrieval Course of undergraduate and graduate.

2、Regular trainings content includes the introduction of subject resources, retrieval and acquisition skills of various types of documents.

Information Consultant

Reference Librarians offer a variety of services such as answering users' enquiries, conducting instruction sessions, providing services of scientific project novelty search, citation search, document delivery and any other reference services.

Document delivery

1、If you want to apply for an article, Please go to Reference & Consultation Department.

2、Fill in the form about your request details, we will search the articles for you.

3、Before you apply for the full articles, you must provide the bibliographical information (for example: journal name, article title, volume information, and so on)

4、We will offer you PDF documents.
