On the afternoon of October 29, Lan Qing, Secretary of the CPC NMU Committee, welcomed a visiting delegation from Ain Shams University, led by Professor Tarek Youssef Ahmed, CEO of Ain Shams University Hospital. Representatives from NMU’s Department of International Cooperation and Exchange also attended the meeting.
Secretary Lan warmly received Professor Tarek Youssef Ahmed and his delegation and provided a brief overview of NMU’s development and its distinctive academic strengths. He highlighted that NMU had built a comprehensive medical education and clinical teaching system, supported by multiple affiliated hospitals, providing a solid foundation for cultivating medical talent and advancing scientific research. He noted that Ain Shams University Hospital served as a key medical center in Egypt and across Africa. The two institutions first established contact through a talent training program in 2023 and conducted mutual visits in 2024. Over time, their relationship has grown closer, laying a solid foundation for continued collaboration.
During the meeting, both sides reached a consensus on deepening cooperation, agreeing to advance practical collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, research projects, and hospital management, while gradually implementing student exchange and clinical training programs.
Professor Tarek Youssef Ahmed expressed his admiration for NMU’s achievements in medical education, scientific research, and healthcare services. He emphasized that he hoped this visit would accelerate practical cooperation between the two institutions and looked forward to comprehensive, substantive collaboration with NMU and its affiliated hospitals in talent cultivation, research initiatives, and hospital management, working together for mutual progress and benefit.
During their visit, the delegation also participated in an exchange seminar attended by leaders from NMU’s Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Clinical Medicine, School of Pediatrics, and affiliated hospitals.
