In early June, President HuZhibin led a delegation on exchange visits to Denmark and Germany, accompanied by representatives from the Department of International Cooperation & Exchange, the School of Public Health, and Science & Technology Office.
During their stay in Denmark, President Huand his delegation visited Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen.At Aarhus University, the delegation toured the Faculty of Medicine and its affiliated Steno Diabetes Center, meeting with Professor LuoYonglunand his team. Both sides reached a consensus on deepening collaboration in areas including scientific research innovation, academic exchange mechanisms, technology transfer, as well as talent recruitment and cultivation models.
At the University of Copenhagen, President Hu held in-depth discussions with representatives and experts from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, focusing on cooperation in birth cohort studies, health data science, artificial intelligence applications, and scientific achievement transformation. Professor Theis Lange, Dean of the University of Copenhagen’s School of Public Health, along with his team, and Professor Ma Hongxiafrom our university presented the latest progress in the Sino-Danish Birth Cohort Study. The two institutions agreed to expand practical cooperation across multiple fields and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
In Germany, President Hu’s delegation attended events at the European Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Frankfurt University Hospital. They also visited the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), where experts exchanged insights on developments in oncology and immunology. Professor Zhou Qigang introduced our university’s disciplinary advancements in oncology and immunology research, while DKFZ experts shared the latest achievements in cancer diagnosis, treatment, and translational medicine, along with progress in the planning and construction of their Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center.Additionally, President Hu attended a symposium with Professor Christoph Michalski, Director of the Department of General Surgery at Heidelberg University Hospital. At the symposium, Professor Kong Bo elaborated on Heidelberg University’s multidisciplinary and systematic mechanisms for medical technology transfer, emphasizing interdisciplinary integration and clinical demand-driven approaches.
The delegation also participated in high-level talent recruitment seminars and overseas alumni association events at the University of Copenhagen and Heidelberg University respectively. At the seminars, President Hu detailed the university’s development strategy, disciplinary layout, and high-level talent recruitment policies. The seminars featured an on-site consultation session, where heads of relevant departments addressed attendees’ inquiries on key concerns including career development and research support.During the gathering with representatives from the European Chapter of the Overseas Alumni Association, the delegation highlighted our university’s recent achievements and extended a warm invitation for alumni to revisit their alma mater, witnessing its new developments.
