Vice President Shen Ruilin Attends the Inauguration Ceremony of the China-Belarus University Alliance and Engages in Inter-University Exchanges

  On November 21, 2023, Vice President Shen Ruilin and his delegation were invited to attend the signing ceremony for the establishment of the China-Belarus University Alliance and the China-Belarus University Presidents Forum. On behalf of NMU, Vice President Shen Ruilin signed the China-Belarus University Alliance Establishment Agreement alongside presidents from other alliance member institutions. 


  The China-Belarus University Alliance was initiated on the foundation of years of deep cooperation in the field of education between the two countries. It aims to create a platform for high-level exchanges and collaboration in higher education, broaden cooperation channels, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Belarusian universities, establish a new model for international educational cooperation, and contribute to the enhancement of China-Belarus relations. 


  During the visit, Vice President Shen Ruilin and his delegation visited the Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU) for exchanges. The meeting was attended by BSMU Rector Sergei Petrovich Bunikov, Vice Rector Vasily Vasilyevich Rudnok, and representatives from the School of Stomatology, the School of Public Health, and the School of Pharmacy, NMU


 Rector Sergei Petrovich Bunikov warmly welcomed Vice President Shen Ruilin and his delegation, acknowledging the positive outcomes of previous collaborations between the two institutions. He provided an overview of recent developments at BSMU and expressed hope for strengthening faculty and student exchanges, as well as research cooperation, in fields such as stomatology, public health and preventive medicine, and pharmacy. 

 Vice President Shen Ruilin expressed gratitude to Rector Sergei Petrovich Bunikov for the thoughtful arrangements for the visit. He stated that the establishment of the China-Belarus University Alliance has created a more favorable external environment for further promoting faculty and student exchanges and international research collaboration between the two universities. He hoped that both institutions would seize this opportunity to enhance mutual trust and advance practical cooperation across various fields. 

 Following the meeting, Vice Rector Vasily Vasilyevich Rudnok accompanied Vice President Shen Ruilin and his delegation on a tour of the BSMU History Museum, medical simulation laboratories, basic medical laboratories, the Department of Pharmacy laboratories, and the Department of Preventive Medicine. 


 Vice President Shen Ruilin and his delegation also visited the BSMU Dental Hospital for exchanges. The hospital director, Oksana Koruna, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the hospital’s major departments, where they interacted with physicians, observed the training and internship programs for medical students, and gained detailed insights into the academic experiences and living conditions of Chinese students studying in Belarus.
