Nanjing Medical University Holds the 2024 International Course Opening Ceremony

On the morning of July 8, the opening ceremony for the 2024 International Courses was held at the Boxue Building on the Jiangning Campus. Attendees included Feng Feng, a member of the university’s party committee and vice president, along with professors, course coordinators, and supervisors from the USA, UK, Australia, and Singapore, as well as key representatives from various departments and schools, such as the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Institute of Medical Education, School of Health Policy and Management, School of Pharmacy, School of Basic Medical Sciences, and International Cooperation and Exchange Office. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Jiyong, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office.

During the ceremony, Vice President Feng Feng emphasized that the university consistently upholds an open and inclusive educational philosophy, introducing globally leading teaching resources and academic ideas to continuously enhance the quality of talent cultivation and international competitiveness. Since introducing international courses in 2016, the university has successfully launched nearly 70 high-quality courses covering a wide range of fields in medicine and health. These courses not only enrich learning content but also broaden students’ global perspectives and innovation capabilities through international teaching and academic exchanges. He highlighted the importance of promoting international courses as the university approaches its 90th anniversary. Looking ahead, the university will continue to stay rooted locally while facing the world, adhering to a global vision and open educational philosophy. It will deepen cooperation with top international universities and academic institutions, optimize and expand its international courses, and contribute the wisdom and strength of Nanjing Medical University to global medical education.

After the ceremony, Vice President Feng Feng visited the classrooms to interact with the teaching professors.

 

Since 2016, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, as the leading department, has collaborated with relevant departments and host schools to initiate and continuously promote international courses. By inviting foreign faculty from world-class universities to teach in English at Nanjing Medical University, the program aims to introduce high-quality international educational resources and enhance the university’s talent cultivation quality and level of internationalization.
