Hospital Overview
Sir Run Run Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University) was officially commissioned into service on June 28, 2016. It is administered by the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission and jointly established by Nanjing Medical University (NMU) and Jiangning DistrictGovernment. Proposed by the Ministry of Education, the hospital was renamed Run Run Shaw after receiving donation from the Hong Kong Shaw Foundation. It’s constructed as a Class III Type A hospital complying with international JCI standards.
With a planned land area of 210 mu, the hospital is adjacent to the NMUJiangning Campus and commissioned into service by two phases. Phase I covers an area of 109 mu and is configured with a construction area of 92,000 m², 560 approved beds and over 1,200 staff.

The past five years since the operation of hospital witnessed a steady year-on-year increase of outpatient and emergency services by 25%–30% and an average of 35% increase of level 3 and level 4 procedures;
Promotion of the MDT diagnosis and treatment model, establishment of a multi-disciplinary collaboration team, and achievement of cascaded patient-centered healthcare;
Innovation in founding “one contact to the end” service center and stage faithful implementation of “first-contact first responsibility system”;
Open up theon-line hospital service to avail “O2O” novel healthcare model giving patients access to efficient and convenient medical services.

Teaching and Academic Research
The hospital has academician workstations and famous doctor workstations, and 2 provincialkey clinical specialties. In 2018, it successfully passed the certification of national drug clinical trial institution. In 2019, the Medical Laboratory Unitpassed the certification of ISO15189 medical laboratories standards.
Currently, the hospital has 30 level 2 teaching-research sections and 6 skill training rooms. Over 200 teachers are engaged in the intern and residency work for students from 8 colleges and 13 specialties. The hospital has 17 master supervisors and is structured with a post-doctoral research station.
Since the opening into operation, the hospital has been granted a total of 19 NSFC projects; participated in 1 key special spin-off project of a national key research and development program, and 14 projects grant-supported by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province.
The hospital has 1 expert receiving the“China State Council Special Allowance”, 1 provincial “Innovative and Entrepreneurial Team”, 9 provincial “333 High-level Talents”, 1 winner of Jiangsu provincial “Excellent Youth Fund”, and 3 Jiangsu provincial “Specially Appointed Medical Experts”, 3 high-calibre talents of the “Six Top Talents Program”.

Due to the outstanding performance in the fight against the COVID-19pandemic, the hospital has won 3 national commendations, 17 provincial commendations, and over 70 municipal and district commendations.
