On February 28th, 2019，Dr. David Collingridge, Editor in Chief of Lancet Oncoland Dr.DucHongLe, UK Editor in Chief of EBioMedicine were invited to conduct academic exchange in NMU. Vice President Ji Yong met with the guests, and relevant personnel of the Department of Science & Technology, the First School of Clinical Medicine, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, oncologists and graduate students were accompanied.
Vice President Ji Yong introduced NMU’s achievements in aspects of medicine, teaching and research to the guests. He pointed out that NMU ranks top among the medical universities in China in paper publication and research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation. He hoped this exchange can promote the research development and internationalization process of NMU.
As the publishing director of Lancet Group, Dr. David Collingridgegave advice that the thesis should be novel and scholars should not cluster in the hot field. Secondly, he attached great importance to clinical research work, and was committed to improving the level of clinical research design and the quality of research reports. He hoped there would be increasing number of Chinese scholars to publish high-level researches in future.
Dr. Le summarized the worldwide situation of paper publication in recent years. He said that domestic researchers and global scientists had cooperated to promote the development of medicine. He proposed that the foothold, quality and innovation of research are of paramount importance for excellent academic journals.
Guests, teachers and students attending the conference conducted in-depth discussions on the obstacles to the publication of high-level papers in Chinese clinical research. During the visit, the foreign guests also visited the Exhibition of the History of NMU as well.
