Pharmacology is the study of the interactions between a living organism and chemicals that affect normal or abnormal biochemical function. Curriculum Pharmacology is one of the most important programs for medical students. All medical students are required to engage in theory classes of about 60 hours and related experimental courses. Laboratory research under faculty guidance is also a must for the students.
The pharmacology subject in our university is a national key subject. The staffs of the department are devoted to several research areas, including neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, clinical pharmacology and tumor pharmacology. The teachers are capable of provide most advanced knowledge of related areas for the students. In 2016, this course obtained the provincial English quality curriculum special fund support.
Over the past decade, more than 10 teachers have participated in the teaching activities of overseas medical students, some of whom are also responsible for the teaching tasks of experimental courses. At present, there are two professors, two associate professors and three lecturers in the teaching team of theoretical courses. All individuals of the lecturing team have PhD degrees, overseas studying and working experience, further ensuring the lecturing quality.
