Human Parasitology

Human parasitology provides learning about the basic principles of human parasites and infectious disease. It mainly discusses protozoan, helminths and arthropod vectors, which have medical importance. The course will cover general parasitology and reviews of protozoa, helminthes and arthropods including classification of the Animal Kingdom. Subsequently the course will explore on the biology of each parasite, discuss on parasite transmission mechanisms, the diseases they caused and their impact on human lives. Control methods for each parasite, relevant diagnosis, sampling and preservation methods will also be included.
