Professor Sir Alfred Cuschieri and Professor Zhi Gang Wang from the Medical Research Institute of the University of Dundee visited NMU on October 17, 2016. President Shen Hongbing and Vice President Li Jianqing received the guests on Jiangning campus. Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation & Exchange, Vice Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, faculty members of the Department of Anatomy and Department of Biomedical Engineering attended the meeting.
The two parties shared the opinions on respective teaching systems and further discussions in the following aspects such as student exchange, scientific research cooperation in translational medicine, the application of VR technology in medical teaching and so on. During the visit, Professor Sir Alfred Cuschieri also attended the Jinling International Medical Symposium and made a keynote speech.
Professor Sir Alfred Cuschieri is best known as a pioneer in the development of minimal access surgery. He has published 530 original articles and holds more than 50 patents for medical devices and instruments.
