Times Higher Education (THE) magazine officially released its World University Rankings 2016-2017 on the daybreak of September 22, 2016. It is the first time for Nanjing Medical University to be listed on the table, claiming a spot in 601-800 band. Overall, 52 universities of mainland China entered the list and NMU was the 30th among them.
Nine universities of Jiangsu Province are on the World University Rankings. They are Nanjing University, Suzhou University, Southeast University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing Normal University, China University of Mining & Technology, Jiangsu University, and Nanjing Tech University. Capital Medical University and Nanjing Medical University are the only two independent medical universities in China that have been listed on the rankings.
Began in 2004, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has successively published seven editions. With great impact and high prestige, it is the only global university performance table to judge world-class universities across all of their core missions - teaching, research, technology transfer, international outlook, social prestige and other indexes.
