The first Jiangsu-Kizilsu Medical Summit was held in Atush, Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from July 29 to 31, 2016. The summit was attended by Dilixiati Kede’erhan, Party Committee Secretary and Acting Governor of Kizilsu, Lu Jun, Vice President of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Shen Hongbing, Lu Xiang, Li Jianqing, leaders of Nanjing Medical University. Over 500 participants attended the summit, including experts from the First Affiliated Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of NMU and Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital and representatives of medical institutions in Xinjiang.
The summit was co-hosted by Nanjing Medical University, Health and Family Planning Commission of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People’s Government of Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, Headquarter of Jiangsu’s support team working in Kizilsu, Health and Family Planning Commission of Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture and People’s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The summit was organized by People’s Hospital of Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture. In the opening ceremony, Shen Hongbing, President of Nanjing Medical University, and Dilixiati Kede’erhan, Acting Governor of Kizilsu Prefecture, signed a letter of intent of cooperation. Lu Xiang, Vice President of NMU and President of Affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, and Yao Cheng, President of People’s Hospital of Kizilsu Prefecture, signed an agreement of support. Ji Guozhong, President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of NMU, and Yao Cheng signed an agreement of scientific cooperation.
Over 20 extraordinary experts from Jiangsu and Xinjiang, including Yu Pulin, Chairman of Geriatrics Branch of Chinese Medical Association, delivered lectures and operation shows to 500 participants. They exchanged advanced ideas in relevant medical fields and showcased world-class operation techniques.
The organization of the first Jiangsu-Kizilsu Medical Summit was a crucial measure for Nanjing Medical University to carry out the new ideas of the Communist Party of China Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Jiangsu Provincial Government to support the development of Xinjiang as well as to fulfill the tasks of co-construction by the Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission and Jiangsu Province. It will effectively promote the medical undertakings in Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture.
