The first international course entitled “Nutrition and Food Hygiene” started its first lesson in Room A306 of Boxue Building on June 22, 2016. Dr. Chung S. Yang, a renowned professor from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, was invited to teach the course. His humorous American English made the preparation lesson a vivid one. The theme of the lesson was “Do what you like, like what you do”. The style of his teaching stimulated the students’ interest in learning and broadened their international horizon. The teacher and students had active interaction in class.
This course was adopted from Rutgers University curriculum, and has maintained its original content and style. It is taught at Rutgers under its original title “Mechanism of disease prevention by diet approach”. Introduction of international courses is a new initiative of NMU to promote internationalization, aiming to nurture internationalized medical talents and speed up the development of NMU into a world-class medical university.
