A delegation of seven members from the University of South Carolina, US, led by Vice Provost Dr. Paul Allen Miller, paid a visit to Nanjing Medical University on June 27, 2016. They were received by Vice President Lu Xiang of NMU and directors from School of Public Health, School of Health Policy & Management, and International Cooperation & Exchange Office.
During the meeting, two parties introduced the history and current situations of each university and expected deep cooperation in such fields as teaching and scientific research. In panel discussions, the topics were student and faculty exchange, joint education program, international courses, etc. Two parties exchanged an MOU on Cooperation. After the meeting, the delegation visited the affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital.
President Shen Hongbing and Vice President Wang Lin of NMU also met the US delegation during the visit.
Founded in 1801, the University of South Carolina is located in Columbia, the state capital and the largest city of South Carolina. It is a famous public research-oriented university in the US.
