President of Nanjing Medical University Shen Hongbing led a team of 10 experts and teachers to conduct a midterm examination of the internship program of international students in our hospital at 8:30 on December 18, 2014. Deputy Director of our hospital Qi Jianwei attended the midterm examination. The Education Department, chairs and secretaries of teaching affairs from individual training sections, as well as four interns representing Grade 2009 received the examination.
The examination began after Deputy Director Qi Jianwei gave his welcome remarks. The main contents of the midterm examination included simulating diagnosis and treatment, doctor-patient communication, documents check, skills operation, experts’ feedback, and teachers and students symposium. In their feedback, the experts praised the achievements of the students, pointed out the inadequacies found in the process, and encouraged the teachers and students to make this examination a fresh start of greater progress. Finally, international student leader Djaleel M. Soyfoo made a comment. He introduced his classmates, and thanked the teachers, nurses and postgraduate students in our hospital. He then went on to share his internship experience during the past 6 months.
Under the care and guidance of the hospital’s leaders, the Education Department will carry out analysis of the feedback and suggestions, and improve the teaching process and teaching quality of international students.
