In the afternoon of October 15th, 2014, a delegation from the School of Medical Sciences of the University of Sydney were warmly welcomed in the Suiyue Pavilion by the Chair of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of the First School of Clinical Medicine and the Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office. The delegation members included Professor Kathryn Refshauge, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Head of School of Physiotherapy, and Professor Patrick Brennan, the Associate Dean of International Research Development.
To begin with, guests from the University of Sydney received a general introduction of Nanjing Medical University and the Rehabilitation Medicine Department’s historic and recent developments. The hosts from Nanjing Medical University also extended goodwill wishes on the multifaceted cooperation with the University of Sydney. Later on, Dr. Kathyrn Refshauge also gave a detailed introduction, ranging from University of Sydney’s glamorous history and broad scale to the School of Medical Sciences research fields and directions of development. Finally, both sides took an in-depth communication on the topic of cooperation in scientific research and joint training of graduate students. Both sides agreed to work on a more detailed plan and schedule to cooperate on hot global health issues and student training programs in the near future.
