Dr. Darryl C. Zeldin,ScientificDirectorofNational Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS, USA),visited NMUon October 27thto launch partnerships in training and research. President Hongbing Shen, representivesfrom School of Public Health and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the meeting and talked with Dr. Zeldin.
During hisvisiting, Dr. Zeldin gave a speech “A Vision for Environmental Health: Overview of the NIEHS” to introduce NIEHS, includingits internal organizations, responsibilities, strategic plans and targets in five years, etc.. He also emphasized the importance of environmental health research.
Later, Dr. Zeldinsigned MOU on behalf of NIEHS with our university to extend morecooperation including training, exchanging of researchers and post doctors and morecollaborativeresearch. Up to now, NMU is the first university in Mainland of China which signed comprehensive collaboration agreementwith NIEHS.
