School twinning between NMU and Yancheng Health College

On December 27th 2013, Nanjing Medical University signed a twinning agreement with the Yancheng Health Vocational & Technical College. The signing ceremony was attended by NMU faculty heads Mr. Chen Qi, president of NMU, as well as Shen Hongbing and Zhang Zhufan, together with Yancheng Health Vocational & Technical College's Wang Guangwen, party committee secretary, and Qiao Xuebing, president. The ceremony was attended by representatives from departments of both colleges, and was presided over by Zhang Zhufan of NMU.   At the ceremony, Wang Guangwen gave an overview of Yancheng Health Vocational & Training College.   Qiao Xuebing, president of the college, then laid out the background and plans for mutual collaboration. On behalf of Yancheng Health College, he signed the twinning agreement together with NMU's Chen Qi. NMU vice president Shen Hongbing then announced the formation of the NMU Jiangsu Northern Health Development Research Centre. Chen Qi and Wang Guangwen together inaugurated the research centre. Wang Guangwen of Yancheng Health Vocational & Technical College spoke of implementing the words of Li Xueyong, governor of Jiangsu province, who promoted “advancing the province through science and technology.” High level universities should serve as models and inspiration for the colleges of the Jiangsu northern district and contribute to the social and economic development of the area. Through the twinning of Yancheng Health College and NMU, NMU will support Yancheng Health College in its deepening of educational reform, strengthening the teaching team, raising the quality of scientific research, teaching, and school administration.
Mr. Chen Qi, acting both as party committee secretary and university resident, stated that NMU's overall strength has been greatly improved in recent years, in terms of talent cultivation, scientific research, and subject development. In the light of its commitment to the economy and society, NMU will continue to strengthen its links and cooperation with affiliated hospitals and medical colleges, bringing its strengths and potential into full play as it seeks to contribute to the social and economic development of northern Jiangsu.
