Medical imaging is an important branch of clinical medicine, which is one of the fastest developing and most extensive fields in modern medical field, including sub-specialties such as diagnostic radiology ( X ray , CT and MRI ) , interventional radiology, ultrasound imaging, nuclear Medicine and imaging technology. The School of Medical imaging was approved for awarding PH.D of Imaging and Nuclear Medicine and was rated the College Specialty in Construction Units in Jiangsu Province in 2006. The Medical Imaging Experimental Demonstration Center of Jiangsu Province was built in 2009 The specialty of Medical imaging and Medical imaging technology are enrolling 100 bachelor students per year at present.




The school of Medical Imaging has 3 affiliated hospitals, 20 teaching hospitals, which is the largest and most comprehensive medical imaging teachingThere are four Doctor Tutors and eighteen Master Instructors in The First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University, sixteen Doctor Tutors and seventy Master Instructors in other affiliated hospitals, making up a strong teaching team. Over one hundred SCI papers And three hundred Chinese core journal papers were published during the recent three years. Our department undertook 18 national natural scientific foundation program projects and 17 province departmental level projects. In order to strengthen the level of clinical and scientific research, the First Affiliated Hospital possesses a Variety of imaging equipment, including 7 sets of MR, 11 sets of CT and 16 sets of DR, etc.

From 2014 to 2017, the average employment rate of students majoring in medical imaging was almost 100%, which was much higher than that of other majors. 88.5% of the employers in general hospitals think highly of the graduates in our department than those of other The salary of the radiologists in the United States has always been among the top clinical sub-specialties, and it's one of the First choices for American medical students as residents. In one word, the future of Medical imaging is extremely bright.
