On May 18th, 2018, the election of 10th Committee of Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine of Chinese Medical Association (CMA) was held in CMA office building. Professor Pan Shiyang, Director of the Department of Medical Laboratory of the First School of Clinical Medicine, was elected Vice Chairman.
Pan Shiyang’s professional titles include professor, researcher, chief physician and doctoral student supervisor. His administrative titles and social posts include director of the Department of Medical Laboratory of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, member of the standing committee of Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine of CMA, group leader of medical laboratory of clinical chemical biology, executive director of Chinese Medical Doctor Association of Lab Medicine, ex-chairman of Jiangsu Society of Medical Laboratory in Jiangsu Medical Association, editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine as well as editorial board member and peer reviewer for several SCI journals. The field of his study is diagnostic and therapeutic molecular markers of major diseases. He found and named SP70, a diagnostic molecular marker and treatment target for tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer. By making monoclonal antibody NJ001 that targets SP70 with high specificity and affinity, he developed a series of laboratory technology that is composed of immunohistochemistry, ELISA and circulating tumor cells. It has been applied in clinical diagnosis, therapeutic assessment and prognosis of lung cancer and other tumors.
