Core Facilities

The Core Facilities at School of Public Health has been established for more than 10 years. The primary mission is to provide fully supports and services for the scientific researches. Through well-organized equipment maintenance and management, the facilities improve the efficiency of techniques support and equipment share.

The Core Facilities, at present, have 5 service sections: Analysis & Detection, Environmental Assessment, Toxicology, Epidemiology & Statistics, and Nutrition & Food. Based on these sectionsthe facilities provide crucial supports for related disciplines in undertaking major research projects. The Core Facilities serve as the platform for cultivating high research and technique talents.

At present, there are five full-time staffs and nine part-time staffs working with core facilities, including five senior, one junior and eight intermediate professionals.

The resources now include Illumina Hi-Seq 1500, MassARRAY, TaqmanOpenrray, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, BD FACS Aria, BD FACSCalibur, Confocal microscope, High content screening system, ABI-7900HT , IVOS-TOX and other large instruments , as well as the zebrafish experiment platform and laboratory animal (rat/mouse) barrier system facilities.

It is also equipped with routine laboratory instruments and equipment such as preparative ultracentrifuge, high speed refrigerated centrifuge, protein purification system, CentriVap Concentrator, nucleic acid /protein analyzer, multi-function microplate reader, fluorescence microscope & inverted fluorescence microscope, Zetasizer Nano ZS-90, Cryotome FSE, chemiluminescence meter and gel imaging system. Each facility has been equipped with network management and real-time monitoring. There are specialists in charge of each service.
