NMU Hosts the 6th Jinling International Nursing Summit

From July 19th to 21st, the 6th Jinling International Nursing Tianyuan Forum was successfully held in Nanjing under the theme “Cross-border Integration, Data-driven Health”. The conference brought together distinguished experts and exceptional young scholars from prestigious universities and disciplines worldwide, including nursing, sociology, and biomedical engineering. Participating institutions included the Chinese Nursing Association, Jiangsu Nursing Association, University of Washington, Yale University, New York University, Peking University, and Capital Medical University. Dean Xu Qin of School of Nursing, NMU, chaired the opening ceremony.

 During the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the CPC NMU Committee and Vice President of NM Xia Youbing, along with President Wu Xinjuan of the Chinese Nursing Association, delivered welcoming speeches, extending a heartfelt welcome to attending experts and delegates. They expressed their hopes that the conference would serve as a platform for exchanging new ideas, technologies, and achievements, thereby advancing the new quality productive forces of healthcare and nursing fields and contributing to the vision of a Healthy China. Chairman Huo Xiaorong of the Jiangsu Nursing Association congratulated the organizers for the smooth execution of the conference and thanked all who have supported the development of nursing in Jiangsu.

The opening ceremony also featured the launch of the new book Scenario-based Simulation Teaching in Nursing: Cases Based on the Entire Lifecycle, where heads from the School of Nursing and Kangda College, NMU, presented copies to representatives from the nursing departments of the affiliated hospitals.

In the keynote sessions, distinguished speakers including Professor Wu Xinjuan, President of the Chinese Nursing Association and Director of the Nursing Committee at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, who received the 43rd Florence Nightingale Award; Professor Huang Jinyue, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Professor Wu Ying, Convener of the Nursing Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council; Professor Sun Hongyu, Secretary-General of the Steering Committee for Nursing Major Teaching in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education; and Professor Wu Bei, Dean for Research at the NYU Rory MeyersCollege of Nursing, delivered presentations on themes such as “Technological Innovation Leading the Development of Nursing Discipline”, “Enhancing Nursing Value”, “Data-driven Technologies Empowering Active Aging”, “Technological Innovation in Active Health Nursing”, and “China's Long-term Care System in a Global Perspective: Models and Developments”. They shared cutting-edge developments and academic achievements in nursing, highlighting advancements both domestically and internationally.

In the concurrent forums, distinguished experts and scholars delivered insightful reports and engaged in discussions on themes including “Reform and Innovation in Advanced Nursing Practice”, “Smart Elderly Care Services and Industry Development”, and “Education of International Students and Cultivation of International Talents”.

The successful convening of the 6th Jinling International Nursing Tianyuan Forum has significantly promoted the global integration and development of nursing, injecting fresh vitality into the high-quality growth of the nursing discipline and promoting the well-being of people.
