On January 27, 2024, Nanjing Medical University held Establishment of Shenzhen Alumni Association and Alumni Representative Conference in Shenzhen. NMU President Hu Zhibin, heads from relevant departments, and alumni representatives from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong attended the conference. The meeting was chaired by alumni Zhao Jun (enrolled in 1992) and Lv Xing (enrolled in 2001).
At the meeting, Yu Baolong, Secretary-General of the Alumni Association, read out the Reply on Approving the Establishment of the Shenzhen Alumni Association of NMU. Tang Jialin, an alumnus enrolled in School of Public Health in 2003, made a work report on behalf of the preparatory committee of the Shenzhen Alumni Association and read out 'Constitution of the Shenzhen Alumni Association of NMU'. The meeting deliberated and voted to adopt the Constitution, and elected honorary president, president, executive vice president, vice president, council directors, secretary-general, deputy secretary-general, secretary, etc. of the Association.
Liu Ming, the first president of the Association, an alumnus enrolled in School of Clinical Medicine in1978, thanked the alumni for their trust and said that the council would strive to build a platform for alumni to interact and enhance friendship, promote professionalism and harmony, and construct a bridge for common development. He also said that the school motto of 'Pursuing excellence with erudition, and reaching perfection with morality' would be inherited and carried forward, and that the alumni of NMUwould contribute their strength to the social and economic development of Shenzhen, the frontier of reform.
Li Dinggang, President of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Alumni Association, and Zhang Xiaowen, Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Alumni Association, attended the meeting to offer their congratulations on the establishment of the Shenzhen Alumni Association. Huang Jianfeng, a public health major enrolled in 1978, and Wen Ping, a stomatology major enrolled in 1987, spoke on behalf of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, looking forward to the future connection, support, loveand joint effort among the Shenzhen Alumni Association and the other NMU Alumni Associations around the world. Representatives of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Changzhou, Lianyungang, Zhenjiang, Yancheng, and Northwest Alumni Associations delivered congratulations and joy in video.
Hu Zhibin, President of NMU and President of the general Alumni Association, presented the flag to the Shenzhen Alumni Association and made a speech. On behalf of the school, he congratulated the establishment of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, thanked the Shenzhen alumni for their support over the years, and proposed hope that in the big family of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, the members would be good liaisons for alumni friendship, publicists for the achievements of their alma mater, and organizers for cooperation between NMU and local regions,further uniting the alumni of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and spreading the spirit and culture of NMU. President Hu Zhibin sincerely invited everyone to visit their alma mater often, to reminisce school days and to seek high-quality development of the school.
