On January 19, 2024, Ma Xin, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, came to NMU for inspection. Yang Xinzhong, Deputy Secretary General of Jiangsu Provincial Government, Jiang Yong, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and Lan Qing and Hu Zhibin, NMU leaders, participated in the inspection.
Ma Xin listened to the progress report of the“Reinvigorating China through Education” Project of NMU, visited the Birth Cohort Sample Bank of the School of Public Health and the Medical Animal Center, and learned about our work in CPC building and leadership, morality education, teaching, scientific research, construction of affiliated hospitals, social services, etc. He affirmed the characteristic practices and outcomes of NMU in personnel training, discipline construction, academic research and other aspects.
During the inspection, Ma Xin pointed out that Nanjing Medical University, as an important force in Jiangsu’s construction of world-class universities, has persisted in promoting the reform and innovation of medical education, built an education system with the characteristics of medical universities, trained first-class medical talents for “Healthy China” Initiative and the strategy of reinvigorating China through education, and played an important role in the innovation and development of medical education in Jiangsu and even the whole country. The university should deeply study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on building China into a leading country in education during the fifth collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, gather the spirit of building China into a leading country in education in the new era through the practice of medical-educational synergy and clinical enhancement, and strive to open up a new situation of developing high-quality medical university and disciplines included in the “double world-class project”, making new contributions for Jiangsu to “take the lead and demonstrate in promoting Chinese-style modernization.”
