Kai Zhu is currently associate professor in Department of Cardiac Surgery of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University and co-director of Biomedical Engineering Center in Institute of Biomedical Science of Fudan University. He graduated from Nanjing Medical University in 2007 with Bachelor of Science (Medicine). He Got his PhD degree in Fudan University in 2012 and completed his residency in Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University. From 2014 to 2016, he was trained as postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical University and completed his clinical fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in USA.
Dr. Zhu's clinical interest includes aortic disease, cardiac valve disease and coronary artery disease. He has obtained over 10 funding programs including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Pujiang Program and Shanghai Chenguang Project. And he has published more than 50 SCI indexed articles As first or corresponding author. He is also invited as editorial member of several SCI indexed journals. In 2012, he got Alan Macdiarmid Award in the Interdisciplinary Research Category from Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine (USA). In 2017, he obtained Lillehei Award From Chinese Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (China).
