Diagnostics


Diagnostics is the transitional course from fundamental medicine to clinical medicine.      The acts of the foundation for all clinical courses, while serving a experiential purpose.

Around few years, the diagnostics courses have developed rapidly. Around 3000 square meters diagnostics training center is the largest medical training center in the province, with multiple functions such as teaching, training, practicing, and examining.

In 2018, diagnostics courses have become Jiangsu Province English taught elite courses. The achievement comes from the efforts of the teaching and researching department. It focuses on the education of international students, adapting the educational details to international medical education trends.


1.  Reform teaching content

Since the contents of diagnostics courses consist of large amount of details, leading to certain obstacles in the way of students' learning process. The department sorts out well experienced teaching with great English teaching backgrounds to be in charge of such tasks. Except improving the current Teaching methods, they expand the contents of fundamental courses to clinical training, where allows the student to experience the theory on a practical basis .

In 2016, the United Medical Simulation Center is established. The deployment of modern teaching equipment offers the students a better learning environment. Interactive exercises such as automatical auscultation simulation, standard patient inquiry training are popular among the students.

The department also develops teaching software, online platforms, and student evaluation systems, expanding the current education resources significant. The improving systems will be gradually applied to the education of international student as well.

2. Innovative teaching mode

Have a developed program that targeting the international student. Since 2016, the inquiry exercise can be conducted through English, and several other exercises are offered in English versions as well. Are New systems that allow student to conduct real life case studies, which they are Able to experience the theory learned in class.

In addition, the department opened the experiential room to international students, where the students are able to improve themselves using outside classroom time.

3. Strengthen the teacher training

Improve the educational quality for international student, we have also focused on the education of the teacher. There are multiple programs allowing the teacher to study abroad to be more effective on teaching English course. The experience they gained in English environment become valuable assets for us .

Over the years, the continuous innovation of diagnostics curriculum reform has been recognized by colleagues inside and outside the university, initially establishing its own unique style, and at the same time, it is constantly exploring a new teaching mode suitable for international students, so that International students in our university can lay a solid foundation for being a qualified clinician when they step into the work.
