2.The training objectives of clinical postgraduates

Professional Degree in Medicine (Master, and Ph.D.):

The training objective mainly focuses on the academic theoretical level and experimental ability. The final goal is to culture researchers suitable for the study of basic theory or applied basic theory.

Specialty Degree in Clinical Medicine (M.M, M.D):

The training objective mainly focuses on the practical work ability in a specific career. The final goal is to culture advanced applied medical talents.

3. Duration

The general duration is 3 years. A flexible educational system can be adopted. The duration for doctoral candidates (Ph.D. /M.D) is 3 to 6 years and 3 to 5 years for master degree candidates (Master/M.M).

  

  

4. Process of postgraduate education

1)Academic Master in Clinical Medicine:

1st year:          Complete the course study.

2nd year:         Literature reviews, accomplish a review article, confirm the research topic, formulate the scientific research design, carry out the opening report, complete the med-term assessment, and achieving credits by learning specialized courses and professional foreign languages.

3rd year:          Continue the research project and publish relevant articles, summarize and analyze research data, write dissertations, complete a paper review, and apply for the thesis defence.

2) Academic Doctor in Clinical Medicine:

1st year:           Complete the course study in the first semester, finish the reading report in the second semester, formulate the scientific research design and carry out the opening report.

2nd year:          Proceed with the research project; undertake appropriate parts of teaching and clinical work, achieve credits by completing the study of specialized courses and professional foreign languages, fulfil the doctoral mid-term assessment.

3rd year:          Continue the research project and publish relevant articles; summarize and analyze research data, write dissertations, complete a paper review, apply for the thesis defence.

3) Master of Medicine (M.M):

1st year:           Complete the degree course study in the first semester, after finishing the course; enter the clinical rotation of relevant secondary disciplines for 6 to 16 months to receive clinical work training, according to the training program of each major.

2nd year:          After the clinical rotation of secondary disciplines, enter the clinical training of the third-level disciplines for at least 12 months; complete the study of specialized courses and professional foreign languages.

3rd year:          Continue the clinical work training, complete the reading report and case discussion; carry out research on clinical problems, write dissertations and publish works; complete the clinical ability assessment before graduation.

4) Doctorate of Medicine (M.D):

1st year:           Complete the degree course study in the first semester, after that, enter the clinical skills and scientific research training for a total duration of at least 1 year, serve as a chief resident or act on behalf of the attending doctor for more than six months.

2nd year:          Continue the training of chief resident, complete the reading report and case discussion, finish the opening report and mid-term assessment; complete the study of specialized courses and professional foreign languages.

3rd year:          Serve as the assistant of chief physician, give guides to the junior doctors, take in the clinical comprehensive ability assessment; write dissertations closely with clinical work, and publish related works.
