NMU MPH Program

Master of Public Health (MPH) Program intends to cultivate professionals for the practice of global health. This program emphasizes on the acquisition of analytical and methodological skills to effectively formulate and critically evaluate health policies; to prevent and control infectious diseases such as SARS, Ebola, HIV, Tuberculosis and Influenza, and to improve conditions of the patients with chronic diseases through health education and health intervention. This is also to improve air and water quality and eventually promote global health. This is a two year full-time program in which students should finish all the required courses and academic research works. Qualified students will obtain the MPH degree of Nanjing Medical University.

Admission Requirements 

●Bachelor’s degree or above in the medical sciences, nursing, biology,

bioscience-related or health-related sciences from a college or university

 accredited by the ministry of education in the applicants’ home countries.

●The applicants from non-English-speaking countries must provide proof of English proficiency, college English test scores or have an international phone interview.

Expenditure

● Registration Fee: CNY 500

● Tuition Fee: CNY 60,000 totally

● Accommodation Fee: double room, CNY 6,000/ (Person*Year)

● Refundable Deposit: CNY 4,000 (refund on Graduation Day)

The above four items should be paid on registration day

● Physical Examination fee: about CNY540 / Person

● Residence Permit: about CNY400/ (Person*Year)

Students should pay the above two items by themselves to relevant departments.

  

Financial Aid

MPH students may apply for fellowships such as Chinese Government Scholarship, check http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/indexen.aspx for details.

Graduate students at Nanjing Medical University often benefit from the support of the university.

First-year MPH students who cannot obtain the government scholarships can get Nanjing Medical University full-tuition scholarship after the enrollment.

HALF of the second-year MPH students who cannot obtain the government scholarships can get Nanjing Medical University full-tuition scholarship based on merits.

Nanjing Medical University

Nanjing Medical University (NMU) was founded in 1934 and rank 193rd of the Best Global Universities in Asia (U.S. News. 2017). NMU now has more than 1600 employees, including 825 skilled teaching staff, 188 professors, 252 associate professors, 422 doctoral supervisors and 1746 master tutors. Currently, it has more than 13,000 students. The university has formed a comprehensive and multi-level educational system that covers undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as post-doctoral training for full-time students, part-time students, and international students.

 

The School of Public Health

The SPH ranked the A+ in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (top 2 in China) by The Ministry of Education of China (Dec 28th, 2017). It comprises eight departments (Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health, Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, Toxicology, Hygiene Analysis and Detection, Social Medicine and Health Education), four centers (Experimental Teaching Center of Preventive Medicine, Teaching and Research Center of Public Health, Jiangsu Human Drug Veterinary Medicine and Pesticide Safety Evaluation and Research Center, Public Health Emergency Counseling Service and Research Center) and one platform (Research Sharing Platform). There are 142 faculties, of whom 93 are full-time teachers including 26 professors, 25 associate professors and 42 lecturers. Amongst them are, 19 doctoral tutors and 34 master tutors.
