Nanjing Medical University held the 2018 Annual Meeting of Special Committee of Medical and Pharmaceutical Periodicals of Jiangsu Society of Scientific Periodicals on November 1, 2018. The meeting was attended by Dr. Li Jianqing, Vice President of NMU, and heads of Jiangsu Society of Scientific Periodicals and Peking University Medical Library, over 50 chief editors, experts and editorial staffers from medical journals all over Jiangsu Province.
Vice President Li made an opening speech, introducing the scientific research and discipline construction of NMU. He confirmed the important role of medical journals in promoting the scientific research development, innovative derivatives and achievement transformation in the medicine and health field.
Wang Jinling (Associate Librarian, Peking University Medical Library), Liu Qian (Director of Editorial Department, Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer), Tang Meng (Chief Editor, Journal of Southeast University Medical Science Edition) and Wang Guangyue (Fellow, Wanfang Med Online) made keynote speeches presenting evaluation of medicine and health core journals, practice of internalization of Chinese medical journals, solicitation and annotation strategies for fund programs of medical academic journals, which were well received by the attendees.
Scientific periodicals are a significant communication carrier of scientific and technological innovation achievements. Special Committee of Medical and Pharmaceutical Periodicals of Jiangsu Society of Scientific Periodicals basically cover all the medical and pharmaceutical journals in Jiangsu. Moreover, Nanjing Medical University Press is the resident office of the Committee.
