A Cross-party Delegation of Sri Lankan Ministers and Members of Parliament Visits NMU

On September 14th, 2018, a cross-party delegation of 11 ministers and members of parliament headed by the Minister of Public Administration & Management and Law & Order, Hon. R.M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, visited NMU. The university leaders Drs. Shen Hongbing and Wang Lin met with the guests. Staffers from the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Asian Section of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, heads of the President’s Office, School of International Education, and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the meeting.

On behalf of the university, President Shen Hongbing expressed a warm welcome to the Sri Lankan delegation. He introduced the development of NMU and the education of the international students. The school explained to the delegation about the application for the MBBS program, and the basic living and study condition of current students. The two sides exchanged views on student cultivation, scholarship allocation, and the accreditation of NMU by the Sri Lanka Medical Council. Both parties were looking forward to further promoting Sino-Sri Lanka friendship, deepening collaborative and pragmatic development, expanding cooperation areas, enriching the connotation of cooperation, and exploring more areas of cooperation.

After the meeting, the delegation also visited the Medical Simulation Center and had a discussion with representatives of Sri Lankan students.
