Great Achievements by NMU in National Undergraduates' Innovation and Experimental Design Contest in Basic Medicine

    The 5th National Undergraduates’ Innovation Forum and Experimental Design Contest in Basic Medical Sciences was held in Central South University from May 12th - 13th, 2018. Four teams of Nanjing Medical University, the leaders of which being respectively Sun Jinyu, Cheng Xumin, Wang Yingfan and Zheng Yujie, entered the finals and won two second prizes, a third prize and a consolation prize.

    475 teams from 113 medical universities and colleges across the country competed for the finals. Co-sponsored by the National Demonstration Center For Experimental Education, the Basic Medicine Branch of China Association of Higher Education and the Teaching Guidance Committee of Ministry of Education for Basic Medicine Major in Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities and Colleges, the competition is conducted for the undergraduates to arouse their interests in scientific research, to improve their innovative way of thinking, to train their abilities in operating experiments, to boost the reform of practical teaching in order to promote the quality of talent cultivation.

    In last autumn, the university started up to prepare for the competition by mobilizing public across the university, selecting teachers as supervisors and simulating spot contest. The first round of the competition was greatly helpful to improve the atmosphere of emphasizing on practice and innovation as nearly 200 undergraduates and teachers in more than 30 teams participated in the qualifier.
