Zhou Zhu, Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology of Brown University, USA, visited Nanjing Medical University. He was received by NMU leaders Shen Hongbing, Ji Yong and directors of relevant departments.
The two sides deeply discussed scientific research collaboration in the fields of animal models in medical experiments, immunological diseases and respiratory diseases, and exchanged ideas on overseas training program of NMU. In the afternoon, Professor Zhu gave a lecture entitled Phosphatase Regulation of Pulmonary Inflammation and Fibrosis. Many questions were put forward by students in a lively atmosphere.
Professor Zhu also paid a visit to the NMU Animal Core Facility.
Professor Zhu received his PhD in Yale University where he worked subsequently for 16 years and became an assistant professor. He was appointed associate professor by Johns Hopkins University and later associate professor by Yale and full professor by Brown University. Professor Zhu is also a visiting professor of NMU. His research focuses on immunological diseases including allergic reaction of asthma and respiratory inflammation. He has published 105 high-impact papers in Science,Nat Immunol,Nat Med,PNAS,J Clin Invest,J Exp Med,AJRCCM,JACI, etc.
