Dr. Liu Yu from Yale University, an expert in hospital management, paid a visit to Nanjing Medical University for academic exchange on December 11, 2017. He was received by Wang Changqing, Party Secretary of NMU, Wang Lin, Vice President of NMU, Party Committee Office, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Health Policy and Management, and leaders from Northern Jiangsu People’s Hospital which is a teaching hospital of NMU. Shen Hongbing, President of NMU, met with the guest before the meeting.
Secretary Wang Changqing extended a warm welcome to Dr. Liu before introducing the achievements made by NMU in such aspects as scientific research and discipline construction in recent years. Dr. Liu elaborated on international projects of hospital management conducted by Yale University, especially those projects collaborated by its Medical School and New Haven Hospital with Chinese partners. Friendly and sincere conversations were held on the issues of students exchange, short-term training and research collaboration. Vice President Wang Lin hoped that two universities shall make joint efforts to build bases and platforms for deep and extensive collaboration in three aspects as students, teachers and affiliated hospitals. In the end, Wang Changqing made a concluding remark that NMU always follows the strategy of opening up and looks forward to promoting the comprehensive and systematic collaboration with Yale University and its relevant schools and hospitals. He extended an invitation for leaders of Yale University to visit NMU. He urged the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange and School of Health Policy and Management to establish a working group for further negotiations and implementation.
