NMU Leaders Meet with Delegation from Fu Jen Catholic University

Professor Dr. Vincent Han-Sun Chiang, President of Fu Jen Catholic University, led a delegation to visit NMU on November 24th, 2017. President Shen Hongbing and Vice President Lu Xiang met with the guests. General Manager of Kunshan Jen Ching Memorial Hospital, Director of Development Committee Office, and Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office attended the meeting.

President Shen Hongbing delivered a detailed introduction to the development of the university to President Chiang and the delegation. The two parties discussed key issues such as student short-term visits, student exchange, faculty training and medical research cooperation with each other. President Chiang expressed his gratitude to NMU for the warm hospitality. He looked forward to expanding cooperation in various fields through the establishment of sister-school cooperative relations to jointly promote the development of medical and health causes both in mainland China and Taiwan areas.

After the meeting, the two sides signed an agreement on academic exchange and cooperation, marking the beginning of the formal cooperation between the two universities.

During the visit, the delegation also paid a visit to the Exhibition of the History of NMU, Medical Simulation Center, the Affiliated Sir Run Run Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital.

Fu Jen Catholic University is a top private comprehensive university in Taiwan area. The university was founded in 1925 in Beijing.

During the national adjustment of colleges and departments in 1952, Fu Jen was merged into other institutions such as the Beijing Normal University. It was re-established in Taiwan in 1961. Since its foundation, Fu Jen has developed into a comprehensive university with 12 colleges and one affiliated hospital. Fu Jen has conducted the most frequent exchanges and cooperation with mainland China and its mainland student number ranks 1st among Taiwan universities.
