Professor Jorge Manuel Costa Laíns, President of International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM), visited NMU during his attendance of the 6th Jinling Summit Forum of Rehabilitation Medicine on Dec. 1st, 2017. Party Secretary Wang Changqing met with Professor Laíns and awarded him the honorary professor certificate of NMU. Professor Li Jian’an and Dean of School of Rehabilitation Medicine Dr. Xu Guangxu attended the meeting.
During the discussion, Secretary Wang Changqing introduced the outstandingachievements of NMU in recent years and expressed his hope that Professor Laíns would continue to support and help the development of rehabilitation medicine of the university. The two parties reached a consensus on promoting the internationalization of rehabilitation medicine.
Jorge Manuel Costa Laíns, MD, Professor, President of ISPRM, is currently Director of the Rehabilitation Medical Center of Central Region of Portugal-Rovisco Pais Hospital. He is thenational leader of International Spinal Cord Injury Investigation (INSCI), member of European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine, Honorary Member of the Sociedade Ibérica de Biomecânica MFR, and Corresponding Member of Japanese Association Rehabilitation Medicine.
