Dr. Pernilla Lagergren from the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery of Karolinska Institutet led a delegation and attended the academic exchanges held in NMU on Oct. 9th, 2017. This is the 2nd Sino-Sweden Joint Forum funded by NSFC and the Swedish Research Council. President Shen Hongbing and representatives from Department of International Cooperation, School of Public Health, School of Nursing and the 1st Affiliated Hospital attended the forum.
President Shen Hongbing welcomed the guests and expected more collaboration in teaching and scientific research through conducting further cooperative projects. Dr. Pernilla Lagergren introduced the basic situation of KI and hoped to continue the all-dimensional cooperation with NMU. The two parties conducted a discussion on the research fields of epidemiology, screening, diagnosis, treatment, nursing and prognosis of esophageal cancer and other tumors and exchanged ideas on student visiting program, faculty exchange, nursing program and so on. The guests also visited the Affiliated Huai’an First Hospital and discussed on the cooperation.
Karolinska Institutet was founded in 1810 and is a top medical school in the world. KI shoulders 43% academic research in medical and pharmaceutical field and is responsible for reviewing and awarding the annual Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. NMU and KI have founded sound cooperative relationship and conducted consistent collaboration in several fields.
