Dr. Jon Frampton, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, led a delegation and visited NMU on September 25th, 2017. Vice President Wang Lin, representatives from Phoenix Publishing & Media Group, and Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange received the guests.
Vice President Wang Lin welcomed the delegation and introduced the basic situation of NMU. Dr. Jon Frampton introduced the development of University of Birmingham and its medical school and affiliated hospitals. He expected cooperation with NMU in the fields of scientific research and teaching. The two parties held detailed discussions on cooperation in scientific research platform, student & faculty exchange, summer school program and international courses and so on.
The University of Birmingham was founded in 1825 as the Birmingham Medical College and became a university in 1900. It is one of the famous Red Brick Universities and ranked 84th in 2017/2018 OS World University Ranking (with a historic record ranking of 62nd) and 3rd in TEF 2017 in the UK. UoB is famous for the medical and biological science field and its employment rate is ranked just below that of Cambridge University.
