On September 11, 2017, the orientation for 2,158 new undergraduate students was successfully held. Leaders of NMU Wang Changqing, Shen Hongbing, Wang Lin, Ma Shuiqing, Xu Shan and Ji Yong went to the registration scenes, pick-up sites, hostels and canteens to welcome the arrival of fresh students. Over 300 faculty members from various schools and departments and more than 400 student volunteers participated in the work of orientation.
This year, NMU launched a series of innovations during the orientation including appointing famous teachers, doctors and university leaders as the growth mentors for fresh students, designing fresh students photo wall, organizing activities entitled‘close to your heart, link with your mind’, making special journalsin the Tianyuan Lakeside, simulating experience of expectant doctors, accommodating early-arriving students and implementing the aid program of medical students. Meanwhile, different schools made innovations widely as well according to their own specialties and cultures so as to create a warm, considerate and convenient atmosphere for fresh students and parents. In addition, a total of 212 fresh students registered smoothly through green channel on that day.
