2017 Best Chinese University Ranking, released on February 27th, 2017 by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, listed Chinese top 500 universities with strong overall capacity. Nanjing Medical University was in the 59th place. 37 universities of Jiangsu Province were included in the list with NMU ranking 6th. 58 independent medical universities were included and NMU ranked 4th among them.
Besides Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has been issuing Best Chinese University Ranking for three years. It adopted key indexes reflecting teaching standard to its utmost, such as NCEE (The National College Entrance Examination) scores of newly-enrolled university students (with the weight ratio of 30%), employment rate of graduates, quantity and quality of dissertation, income from translation of scientific and technological achievements and internationalization. As a result of its transparent methodology and data, the ranking objectively reflects the universities’ competency.
