A delegation from the University of Alberta visited Nanjing Medical University on December 19, 2016. The delegation consisted of Dr. Le Xiaochun, a fellow of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society ofCanada and Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology of theUniversity of AlbertaFaculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and Dr. Li Xingfang, also a professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology of theUniversity of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. They were received by NMU leaders Shen Hongbing and Li Jianqing as well as officials from the Department of International Cooperation & Exchange and the School of Public Health.
Shen Hongbing, President of Nanjing Medical University, extended a warm welcome to the guests and awarded certificates of appointment to them. Both sides hoped to conduct long-term cooperation in such fields as medical toxicology, occupational hygiene and environmental health.
During the visit, the two professors gave lectures under the themes of “Bioanalytical Technology and Environmental Health” and “Drinking Water Disinfection by Products and Health Effects”. They also paid a visit to the School of Public Health, Education Exhibition of Medical Ethics, Jiangsu Provincial Experimental Animal Base for Medicine and Pharmacy, Medical simulation Center, and State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine.
