The foundation ceremony of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of NMU was held on December 5th, 2016. NMU leadership Chen Qi, Zhou Yafu, Xia Youbing and Xu Shan, directors of General Office of the Party Committee, Organization Departmentand Department of Personnel, as well as all staff members of the School of Health Policy and Management attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, anadjustment plan of the School of Health Policy and Management and some relevant appointments were announced. The original School of Health Policy and Management and Department of Social Sciences will be reorganized into two schools: the new School of Health Policy and Management and School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition, the original Party Committee of the School of Health Policy and Management and Department of Social Sciences will be renamed Party Committee of the School of Health Policy and Management & School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Meanwhile, the secretary and deputy secretary of the new Party Committee made their statements respectively on the podium.
NMU Party Secretary Chen Qi put forward three expectations for the newly founded School of Humanities and Social Sciences: Firstly, continue to strengthen the ideological and political theory course construction and teachers’ team construction, and endeavor to improve the teaching level and teaching quality of ideological and political theory courses. Secondly, combined with the features of programs and based on the current platform, further construct a platform of humanities with high level and great influence of our university, promote the circulation of medicine and humanities and enhance the humanistic quality of NMU. Thirdly, strengthen the system construction andmaintain resource sharing and collaborative development so as to promote cross integration between the two schools.
