On November 30, 2016, Times Higher Education announced the BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. 300 universities from 41 emerging economies (country & region) are on the list. NMU has been selected on the list and ranks 102nd among all the universities. NMU ranks 28th among all 52 universities of mainland China and ranks 5th among 8 universities of Jiangsu Province that are on the list. Nanjing Medical University and the Capital Medical University are the only two independent medical universities which have been selected on the list.
This rank adopts the same 13 performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and universities included in the rankings should be excellent in teaching, research, international outlook, knowledge transfer, etc., and compete with universities from 41 emerging economies (country & region).
