3. Research Interests

1. 2012-2015, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “the study on the requirement of human vitamin A by isotope dilution technique and beta-carotene intervention experiment”, supported by the China National Natural Science Foundation.

2. 2014-2015, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “the applied research of dietary assessment with instant photography”, supported by the Danone (China) Nutrition Research Foundation.

3. From 1991 to present, being engaged in the researches on micronutrients nutrition among pregnant women, infants, young children, adolescents, elders, including choline, folate, retinoids, carotenoids, iron, zinc, etc. Also was chief translator of the Chinese Editions of Present Knowledge in Nutrition 8th edition and 9th edition (published by the People’s Health Press, Beijing, China).

4. 2011-2012, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “Study on modality and constitutional parameters of the commercially available indefinite-configuration foods consumed by urban Chinese residents in diet”, supported by the KFC Diet and Health Foundation grant under the Chinese Red-Cross Foundation.

5. 2010-2012, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “Study on vitamin A requirement of adult Chinese by isotope dilution technique and vitamin A invention trail”, supported by the China National Natural Science Foundation.

6. 2009-2010, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “Development of a collection of illustrative food pictures and evaluation on its use in dietary intake recall”, supported by the Danone (China) Nutrition Research Foundation.

7. 2008~2010, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “Effects of Vitamin A Supplementation during Lactation on Infants’ Antibody Response to Hepatitis B Vaccine in China” supported by Nestle Foundation grant.

8. 2004-2010, as member of draft committee of the Dietary Guideline for Infants, Young Children of China, took charge of composition for the draft of the Dietary Guideline for Infants, Young Children of China.

9. 2000~2004, as principle investigator, took charge of research work “Study on bioavailability of β-carotene to vitamin A in human body”, financed by the China National Natural Science Foundation; and “Study on relationship between iron status and risk of chronic disease” financed by Shandong Province Government; and “Study on intake and requirement of carotenoids of Chinese residents” financed by the Nutritional Science Foundation of Chinese Nutrition Society.

10. 1996~2000, as one of three major collaborators with responsibility for the field work, took part in the research of The Effects of Zinc and Other Micro-nutrients on Growth, Immunity, Vision and Cognition of Chinese Children financed by the International Lead Zinc research organization, Inc. and the Thrasher Research Fund.

11. As co-principle researcher, undertook research of The effects of trace elements on brain function development of infants. financed by The Health Department of the People's Repubic of China (the Key Project of the Ninth Five-year Plan of China).
