ECU Delegation Visits NMU

Dr. Steve Chapman, Vice-Chancellor and President of Edith Cowan University in Australia, led a delegation to visit NMU on Oct 28th, 2016. NMU leadership Dr. Shen Hongbing, Dr. Wang Lin and Dr. Lu Xiang met with the delegation respectively. Directors and deans from the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Teaching Affairs Office and Graduate School attended the meeting.
 Both parties introduced the basic situation of each university and exchanged ideas on joint PhD program, summer school, student exchange program, faculty exchange and international courses. Both of the universities intended to launch cooperation in the above areas and continually promote the practical collaborative relationship. NMU and ECU leaderships also signed a Cooperative Agreement of Student Articulation and Cooperative Agreement for Joint Doctoral Programs after the meeting.

The ECU delegation also paid visits to the Exhibition of the History of NMU, School of Public Health, Animal Core Facility and the affiliated Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital during the visit.

ECU was founded in the year of 1902 in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, and remains as the oldest, fastest developing and most modern university in this region. ECU is now organized into eight teaching schools, including Schools of Education, Engineering, Medical & Health Sciences, Nursing & Midwifery and so on. Its nursing and education are among the most distinctive majors among Australian universities.
