NMU Delegation Visits Karolinska Institutet and the University of Gothenburg

On the invitation by Professor Jesper Lagergren from Karolinska Institutet, President Shen Hongbing made an academic trip to KI and attended a joint workshop financed by China-Sweden Network Grant from the Swedish Research Council in Sweden and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) from October 10 to October 15.

During the visit, the two parties held a discussion on recent development in esophageal cancer. President Shen hoped that through the joint research program, both parties could discuss collaborative research plans and further the exchange and communications and search for more teaching and research opportunities.

The delegation also paid a visit to the University of Gothenburg and launched discussions with them on joint PhD training programs, scientific research collaboration, faculty & student exchange, nursing program and so on.

Karolinska Institutet is a top medical institution in the world and is responsible for judging and awarding the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine each year. The University of Gothenburg is the 3rd oldest comprehensive national university in Sweden. Both of them have founded a close collaborative relationship with NMU and have conducted consistent cooperation with NMU faculty in different fields.
