According to the Statistical Data of Chinese S&T Papers of 2015 issued by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) on October 12th, 2016, 1387 papers from Nanjing Medical University were included in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) (categories of literature: Article and Review), rendering NMU the 40th among national universities (the number of papers in 2014 was 1059 with a ranking of No. 49). Among these papers, 594 received more citations than average in their respective fields, ranking 36th among national universities (the figure was 567 and the ranking was No. 33 in 2014). 127 papers were published in top 10% journals in their fields judged by SCI impact factors, ranking 30th among national universities (the figure was 100 and the ranking was No. 67 in 2014). The number of first authorships in multinationally authored papers was 211, ranking 59th nationwide (the figure was 146 in 2014 with a ranking of No. 66). The number of papers included in Medline database ranks 16th while it was at the 14th place in 2014. 7706 papers from NMU included in SClE were cited 62731 times in 2006-2015, ranking 39th nationwide.
