The 2016 Jinling International Symposium on Translational Medicine, which was hosted by NMU and undertaken by the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine, Jiangsu Collaborative Innovation Center for Personalized Cancer Medicine, the Reproductive Medicine Center and Cancer Center of the 1st Affiliated Hospital, was successfully held in Nanjing from Sept. 23rd to 24th.
Themed as “Focusing on the Cutting-edge of Genomics and Promoting the Development of Translational Medicine”, the symposium has attracted many academicians and experts from world famous colleges and universities, hospitals and research institutions to participate in, including those from St.Jude Children's Research Hospital,Mayo Clinic, NorthShore University HealthSystem, MD Anderson Cancer Center, KarolinskaInstitutet, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SunYat-senUniversity and Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention
The symposium consisted of key lectures and special training seminars. Participants made thorough illustration and introduction of the current cutting-edge of cancer and reproductive medicine as well as the translational tendency. And they also held broad discussions on the development and direction of cancer and reproductive medicine in the “Age of Big Data” as well as transforming and applying the research achievements into clinical field.
The symposium is of great importance to enhance the academic exchanges, promoting international cooperation, facilitating the multi-discipline integration of translational medicine. During its preparation and organization, this symposium had been receiving great guidance and support from many distinguished experts and scholars including academicians Cheng Jing from Tsinghua University, Zhou Qi from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lin Dongxin from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
