NMU Delegation Visited Three American Universities

NMU delegation, led by President Shen Hongbing, visited Tulane University, University of South Carolina and Wayne State University from April 15th to April 20th, 2016 and held discussions on student & faculty exchange, scientific research cooperation with leadership from the above three universities. Officials from School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Public Health, School of Health Policy & Management and Department of International Cooperation and Exchange attended the meetings.

During the visit to Tulane University, President Shen Hongbing signed an agreement of “4+2” joint public health program and exchanged ideas on scientific research & teaching cooperation, clinical student exchange program and faculty training program with leadership from Tulane and reached a cooperation intent after the meeting.

During the visit to University of South Carolina, NMU held further discussions on “3+2” joint health management program, student exchange, faculty training and scientific research cooperation, hoping to make further cooperation in the fields of public health and health management. NMU visiting professor Dr. Li Xiaoming also attended the meeting.

During the visit to Wayne State University, the mutual parties conducted substantive discussions on clinical medicine student internship, joint laboratory construction, student & faculty exchange based on the good relationship. At the same time, President Shen Hongbing awarded a Certificate of Adjunct Professor to NMU alumnus Dr. Sun Fei who is a member of WSU faculty. President Shen also met with 6 NMU students who are under an exchange program with WSU. He encouraged the students to treasure the opportunity and work harder and promote the exchange and cooperation between NMU and WSU.
